Making a Simple Lavender Linen Spray

Making a Simple Lavender Linen Spray

Lavender linen spray is an easy way to bring a light, natural fragrance into everyday spaces. Used on bedding, linens, or in the air, it offers a gentle freshness without overwhelming the senses.

This method keeps things simple, relying on dried lavender rather than essential oils, making it well suited for beginners.

What You’ll Need

  • Dried lavender buds

  • Hot water

  • A heat-safe jar or bowl

  • Fine strainer or cheesecloth

  • A clean spray bottle

How to Make Lavender Linen Spray

  1. Create a lavender infusion
Place 2 tablespoons of dried lavender buds into a heat-safe jar or bowl. Pour 1 cup of hot (not boiling) water over the lavender.

  2. Cover and steep
Cover loosely and allow the lavender to steep for 30–45 minutes. This draws out fragrance without bitterness.

  3. Strain
Strain the liquid through a fine strainer or cheesecloth, removing all plant material.

  4. Bottle the spray
Once cooled completely, pour the infused lavender water into a clean spray bottle.

How to Use

  • Lightly mist bedding before making the bed

  • Spray linens or fabric items from a distance

  • Refresh rooms with a gentle mist in the air

Always test on a small area of fabric first.

Storage & Shelf Life

Because this spray contains no preservatives:

  • Store in the refrigerator when possible

  • Use within 5–7 days

  • Discard if the scent changes or cloudiness appears

For longer storage, make small batches as needed.

A Note From the Farm

Lavender’s fragrance is most appreciated when it is allowed to remain subtle. Linen spray offers a simple way to enjoy the plant’s natural qualities without overpowering a space.
