ABOUT

Welcome to JW Farms

JW Farms began with a simple desire: to care for land thoughtfully and remain active in meaningful work as a new season of life began.

Our family-owned farm was started by two couples who have been friends for more than forty years — Johnny and Gail Williams, and James and Angela Woods. As retirement approached, none of us felt called to slow down completely. We enjoyed being busy, learning new things, and working with our hands.

The idea for JW Farms grew naturally. Gail had already been tending a small homestead and experimenting with lavender in her garden, drawn to the beauty and character of the plant. As her interest grew, Johnny began researching its potential, and soon the idea of starting a small lavender farm began to take shape. When we purchased land together, the opportunity felt right — not to rush into something large, but to test the waters thoughtfully and see what could grow.

From the beginning, stewardship has guided every decision. As believers in the perfection of God’s creation, we are committed to caring for the land with respect and intention. We strive to use the best practices in all aspects of our lavender farm, focusing on quality, responsibility, and organic methods in all that we do. We believe the land gives its best when it is treated with patience and care.  Our approach is shaped by years of hands-on gardening, herbal study, and a deep respect for how plants are meant to be grown and used.

Like the land itself, our journey has unfolded at its own pace. Life has slowed some of our original timelines, but it has not diminished the vision. After three years, we continue forward with the same excitement and purpose that inspired us in the beginning — learning, growing, and allowing this place to become what it was meant to be.

JW Farms is more than where we work. It is where friendship, faith, stewardship, and the rhythms of the land come together. We’re grateful you’re here and that you’re taking the time to learn about this place.
